Primary teeth – or baby teeth – need as much looking after as adult teeth. If you think your child might be nervous on their first visit, then why not bring them in at your next appointment?
We can sit them on your lap when in the chair to get them used to the smells, sounds and look of our clinic.
We believe in a ‘whole family’ approach to dental care and one of our team will happily take time to demonstrate good teeth-cleaning methods as well as advise on what to avoid when it comes to diet and drinks and suggest ways to stop any habits that are detrimental to the development of your child’s dental health.
We recommend that you brush your child’s teeth and gums at least twice each day for two minutes each time – especially before bedtime.
We also suggest you supervise teeth cleaning until they start secondary school – and make sure you change the brush-head or brush every three months or after any bouts of illness.
We welcome all of your family to Eastgate Dental Clinic and you need to bring your child every six months to see the dentist and our hygienist once their first tooth has erupted, so we can keep an eye on their developing dentition.
